Accessories: Ephidius carries with him a jeweled gauntlet on his right hand, symbolizing both his status, and his power. The twin jade orbs locked in the gauntlet call down "Alpha Book of Numbers", the most terrible and powerful of the Aethian spellbooks. The Alpha Book contains the terrible runic magic assembled by Sherio Challanor when Aethia was created, for the use of the Aethian royal line. Ephidius also wears a suit of mithril beneath his regal uniform, protecting him from the arrows and knives of others, with some hold against sword blows. Large metal shoulder plates and steel shin guards protect both areas, as well as a neck guard to prevent an easy fatality.

History: Ephidius, 9th ruler of Aethia, and heir to the throne. He ascended to his rightful place when he turned 32, succeeding his late father, the former Emperor Mathius. Ephidius has ruled Aethia with a steady hand for the past 2 years, focusing on military matters, leaving political affairs in the hands of his ministers. Intellectual and athletic, the Emperor is the ideal ruler, except for one thing. He has a poor concept of the outside world, thanks to the fact he is almost always within the imperial palace. His people love their emperor, but many have never seen his face, except when he gives formal speeches or perhaps in his coach heading down the streets.
